It started with a song… it usually does but I’m sure you are used to me saying this by now. The song is one I’ve written about before, and somehow it always seems to come back and show me something new. This song and the beginning of the holiday season got me thinking about life. My life, how it’s changed, all the good, the bad and the ugly; but more importantly what I love about it. And then, I started to wonder what I would do if I had one wish, one dream come true, what would it be? I jokingly said to someone the other day that I truly do want world peace. This got me thinking even more, and the truth of the matter is, I really do. I could wish for a million dollars, sure that would be nice. I could wish for my health, even better! Life everlasting, my own piece of heaven, none of these would be better than peace on earth. Just imagine what it would be like! A place with no war, no hunger, no pain, no anger, no killing, no greed – just peace. The news would always be good. Work would be plenty and worthwhile. Each and every human being would have enough. It may be unrealistic to dream of such things, could we, as humans, even grasp such thoughts? Could we really survive in a world without anger and strife? Could we live in a world that only knows love? I think so!

Just by coincidence I came across a website as I thought about writing this blog. It’s called ‘Square Shaped Circles’ the web address is: I got to this website through a tweet about a song. The song is called ‘Love In Abundance’ by Robb Murphy. Call it fate, destiny, providence, karma, kismet or whatever else it may be… to me it is the power of love through a song that took me to this place.

Please take the time to peruse this website, read about this life project and organization. One of the main tenets of this organization is Love. Share it, say it, write about it and live it. Bring about positive change in your life and you will share the feeling with others. Pay it forward as a global initiative. There is a book, called “Love Is”, a collaborative work, what a wonderful gift idea this is. You can share your love and help others in the process!

So for this holiday season I wish you peace, comfort and joy tied up with a big red bow called LOVE. Spread it around. Share it with everyone. Say “I Love You” and truly mean it! Hug someone just for the sheer joy of it. Smile for the wonder of it all. There is a sign in my office with the following quote: “Love wins, love always wins.” ― Mitch Albom, Tuesdays With Morrie. Love does win… Believe it!

peace love joy

I leave you with this poem, something I tried to get used to rhyming. I’m not big on the rhyming scheme as you may have noticed from earlier poems! This sort of worked… at any rate it captures some of my life and the places that mean something to me.

If I had a wish
What would it be?
Where am I going?
What will I see?

In a world of illusion
I find myself looking
For comfort and kindness
A safe place I’m booking

Peace for my mind
Warm thoughts fill my head
All of these blessings
Laid up in this bed

If I had a wish
What would it be?
A home on the coast
To watch the deep blue sea

A magical cottage
Covered with fairy floss
The flowers grow wild
Between rocks covered with moss

Joy fills my days
No stresses at sea
A romp in the sand
Is where you’ll find me

If I had a wish
What would it be?
A thicket of dogwood
Pink flowers I’d see

A log cabin
With fireplace burning
The warmth of your arms
For this I am yearning

Love in abundance
Of this I am certain
A river flows through me
My love, close the curtain

If I had a wish
What would it be?
To live in the mountains
A place where we’d flee

A path to the summit
Where red hawks fly low
The ground is now covered
With pristine white snow

A soul filled with music
The song of my heart
The beauty is endless
In this breathtaking part

If I had a wish
What would it be?
A place I’d call home
Just you and me

A stone carved mantel
Covered with roses
A bed near the fire
As the door closes

A life without ending
In this mystical cloud
Here we are free
No words are allowed

And of course there is a song and video! Yes, you guessed it, “Love In Abundance” by Robb Murphy. It’s a song embedded in my soul for more reasons than I ever imagined. You can read the original blog about this song here: It was the story in my life that started this blog, and will always have a special place in my heart. Evidently my friend Kyle has chosen to show me another bit of magic this song can reveal to me. What a beautiful gift I’ve been given again. Music works in mysterious ways if we just take the time to listen to it.

I wish you Peace, Joy & Love in Abundance for the Holidays. Don’t forget to share your Love, it’s the greatest gift you can give!

And always remember…
It started with a song…
.. and ended with a smile!
