Love is a gift. It costs us nothing to give and returns to us a hundredfold. I’ve been trying to make it a part of my holidays in my actions, in my thoughts, the gifts I am giving… I am trying to give a bit of my heart away. So many words have been written about love; there are websites, movements, songs, and books devoted to it; and yet, hate and fear seem to be making headlines more often than not. I have a wish … yes, it’s that time of the year! My wish would be to have the world forget about war, hate, killing, abuse, commerce and politics, and just celebrate love this year. Love for your family, your friends, your neighbors, the strangers you meet along the way, your enemies, the world – let go of the anger, put aside all of those weapons that harm, maim and kill and give into the spirit of the season and just love one another. I believe love is the greatest gift we can give and share with one another. If people took the time to share just a tiny bit of love in their hearts with another, can you imagine the changes we could make in this world?
Make love a habit!
Science tells us it takes 21 days to form a new habit. So I am asking you to try and instill love into your life, each day for 3 weeks, starting now! Just imagine the possibilities of a world filled with love. Start the New Year on a positive note (the habit will be instilled in you by then) and let your heart be your guide.
Sometimes it’s the little things that can effect the biggest changes in our lives. I’ve been consciously letting love be my guide this holiday season. Each day I’ve tried to make one tiny change by letting someone know that they are loved. Most days it is just a tiny gesture of kindness, a smile, a text, an unexpected call, a hug, letting someone go ahead in line … the list is unending. Random acts of tiny kindnesses have given me more joy, a sense of peace and a gift that keeps on giving. It seems to be working for me! Less stress, more love… let the merrymaking begin!
I believe you’ll find love is a force that can change your life and the world around you. Give it a try… I dare you! Love really is enough!
So, it is with gratitude and love that I leave you now. I hope your holidays and everyday will be filled with love. Share your heart; give some of that love inside of you away. You will be amazed at what you will receive in return! I leave you now with these videos I hope they inspire you….
Let love be your guide. Happy Holidays!
It started with a song… and ended with a smile!
